Morsel Munk provided a $1,500.00 scholarship to The Outdoor Nation Youth Summit in Central Park, June 19-20, 2010. Yes, that's THE Central Park in New York City. Our Delegate was Claudia, an Environmental Engineering student at the University of Connecticut. The event was a huge success, gathering 500 of America's top young leaders - from Alaska to Puerto Rico, Mississippi to New Hampshire. The delegates were led by peer youth Ambassadors in brainstorming ways to reconnect youth with the great outdoors, be environmental stewards, and so much more. Outdoor Nation Youth Summit Highlights:
  • Selected from more than 1,000 applications, 500 of America's top young leaders joined together for a first-ever National Outdoor Youth Summit.
  • Outdoor Nation Delegates outlined top youth-led ideas, priorities and solutions while the Outdoor Nation Ambassadors developed an Outdoor Nation Declaration. Both are now posted on www.outdoornation.org.
  • The Youth Summit was an official "America's Great Outdoors" listening session - drawing top Obama administration officials from the Department of Interior, Department of Agriculture, Department of Labor and Center for Environmental Quality.
  • Grant and intern opportunities were announced by The North Face, SNEWS and Camelbak. Visit Outdoor Nation's website for details.


The 2010 Summit and Festival is over, but the work is just beginning. It's never too late to become an Outsider. Learn more at Outdoor Nation.

Outdoor Nation is a growing community of young Outsiders - artists, athletes, advocates and ambassadors - who have joined together to champion the outdoors. This new youth-led movement will reclaim, redefine and rediscover the outdoors - building an Outdoor Nation for this and future generations.

Outdoor Nation will:
  • Mobilize a movement by empowering young people across the country to champion the outdoors and outdoor issues
  • Influence federal, state and local outdoor policies and programs
  • Provide advice and a youthful perspective to outdoor companies and organizations
  • Create a community that shares outdoor passions and organizes outdoor outings
  • Host events that bring the Outdoor Nation together - providing networking and training opportunities


Outsiders will receive the tools, training and social support they need to spur a cultural revolution that leads to a strong Outdoor Nation.

Morsel Munk, LLC is a member of 1% For The Planet. This means we donate a minimum of 1% of our gross annual revenues to a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting our environment. Yes, we donate based on our gross revenues, not our profit.

1% For The Planet researches and approves environmental non-profits, to ensure credibility and alignment with their environmental criteria. Their work ensures that the organizations supported by 1% For The Planet members are bona fide environmental groups, with clear objectives and a track record of effective environmental initiatives.

At Morsel Munk, we selected The Conservation Alliance to be our environmental non-profit beneficiary. The Conservation Alliance's mission is to engage businesses to fund and partner with organizations to protect wild places for their habitat and recreation values. Funding is directed to community-based campaigns to protect threatened wild habitat, preferably where outdoor enthusiasts recreate.

Grants from The Conservation Alliance have helped organizations in their work to protect more than 49 million acres of land, stop or remove 27 dams, and preserve access to thousands of miles of rivers and several climbing areas.
